Quilters - help - this is not coming right out!?
I make a quilt for my niece graduation. The reason alternating high 7 1 / 2 inch squares batik patches of four squares of black and white. So far, so good. All batiks are cut, and all squares four patches are sewn with standard 1 / 4 inch seams. The pattern called for 3 1 / 2 square to the four-piece. So now I have all these four patches that are 1 / 2 in the larger in both dimensions as batik square ... and the only way I can understand how to solve this problem so that they are the same size as the batik is carefully cut 1 / 4 inch on each side of the four-piece. We're talking about 50 of them. The best way to do that? Time is of the essence, I did not have much time to spare to start sewing, and now it put me further behind - with the quilt and binding remains to be done! (Needless to say I'll be knitting machines in the ditch, if I ever get to this point!)
I do not know how it ended like that, but at this stage it does not matter. Time to clear the ball! Use a rule maker and a knife rotary shave more seats to match the smaller ones. Good luck. It looks like a very pretty quilt. .
