Christmas Tree Skirt Fabric

Need to make a large circle using the fabric I have.. Help!?

I have 2 sheets of fleece. Each is 2 yards (72 inches) by 45 inches. I want to make a Christmas tree skirt out of them for a gift, but I'm not sure the best way to go about it. It needs to be as big of a circle as possible because they have a huge tree. I don't mind making as many cuts as needed as I can just tie the fabric back together where I cut. Anyone good at geometry that can help me out? Thanks!!!

Fold the fabric in half, then in half again. Take a piece of yarn that is half the width you want the circle. (If you want it 6 feet wide - cut it 3 feet plus enough to tie to a marker or piece of chalk) Have someone hold one end of the yarn at the corner of the fabric that will be the middle when you unfold it (or safety pin it). There will be no outside edges at that corner. With the other end of the yarn, put a marker and draw the arc on the fabric. You're just using a handmade compass. Cut the quarter circle, unfold the fabric, and you have a circle. You will probably need to trim it up a little bit to make it pretty, but that will give you the general shape without too much trouble.
